Evaluation part 4

By using new media technologies such as: Final cut pro, Google, Imovie, Itunes, YouTube, Blogger, Soundcloud, Pinterest, Slideshare. I was able to plan, research and construct my music video. Starting with the planning process I down my ideas onto paper, I then took pictures of these ideas and put them onto blogger. This way I was able to document exactly what was going on in my head in regards to planning my music video. Quickly writing small blog posts on my blog was a great way of me remembering my thought process and it also became a good way for me to interpret and map out all of the different ideas that were coming to my head. Blogger proved to be an important asset in constructing and planning my work as I could show each and every step of the process I was taking. To aid with the planning process I used Pinterest. I found this was very helpful and added a different element to my blog. For example On Pinterest I was able to search many different aesthetics which I wanted to include in my music video. using this application gave me a different platform of showing my thought process which I feel helped give variety to my blog.

I also used Slideshare to create a pitch for my music video. This added a different aspect of planning and research onto my blog and I feel it shows I have a good understanding when using different technological devices and apps. This was also a good way for me to broadcast my work as I had the option of posting the link to my music video pitch publicly or privately. Therefore allowing feedback in the early stages of my research and planning. Using YouTube and Soundcloud: I found my song for my music video. I researched a lot of different genres of music, artists and songs to choose from. This was extremely useful to me as YouTube especially offered me such a wide variety of songs to choose from. This however meant I had a hard time picking one particular song as all of the songs I listened to open my mind and had me thinking about different ideas that I could use within my music video. Once I had chosen the song I wanted to use I then downloaded the song via Itunes and this was the format in which I uploaded it to Final cut pro.

Once I had chosen my song, done all my research and planning and filmed footage for my music video, I moved on to the editing aspect of my work. I first uploaded all of my footage onto Imovie and due to technical difficulties on Final Cut pro: I decided to edit the footage on Imovie. The layout of this application is quite straight forward and allowed me to see exactly what I was doing. However I couldn't complete the accurate and intricate editing I was trying to achieve while using this application. So I then decided to use Final cut pro. Final cut pro was an application that I had used before so I was familiar with the different settings. However For this project I was able to expand on my abilities. One of the editing skills I tried to craft was lip- synching. Which I hadn't done before, Using this application enabled me to precisely edit and cut wherever I wanted. There was also a wide range of different filters and settings that I could use within my music video which helped me add variety into my music video.
